Bingo Hall Sellers/Checkers

Position Objectives:

Reporting to the Bingo Manager the Sellers/Checkers reports to the Head Door Seller. Seller/Checker must be friendly, customer oriented, energetic, hard working, reliable, and punctual. The Sellers/Checkers answer customer questions/concerns, provide card sales, verify and payout bingos, and balance their cards and cash at the end of their shift according to the Standard Operating Procedures of the Peguis Treaty Committee. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take direction from the Head Door Seller.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ensure that the bingo hall is clean and equipped with operating supplies such as session information.
· Clean tables, put up chairs, empty garbage, replace garbage bags, put garbage in bin at the end of each bingo session;
· Report to the Bingo booth at the beginning of each operating bingo session for duty assignments and distribution of cards and floats;
· Reports any discrepancies of cards and cash floats immediately to the Head Door Seller or the Director of Gaming;
· Balance cards and cash at the end of the shift. Report shortages in float to Head Door Seller. Cash shortages are deducted from honorarium;
· Commence card sales immediately following verification of cards and floats and two hours prior to the start of the bingo session;
· Hours are from 5:00pm – 10:00pm;
· May be required to assist with counter sales;
· Ability to operate Video King bingo machine and call bingo;
· Must acknowledge all bingos declared by patrons. Ensure that game(s) are ceased for all bingo verifications and make sure the caller is informed of a possible bingo;
· Issue prize payment amount immediately after the closure of each game played;
· Where there is no verifier in use, verifying major prizes ($500 or more) by taking winning card to a non-winner;
· Provide fast and efficient service to the bingo hall patrons;
· No playing bingo cards during shift;
· Must wear bingo uniform during shifts;
· Bingo staff to use punch clock and time cards beginning and ending of each shift;
· Bingo staff to fill out time sheets on Mondays bi-weekly for payroll (to coincide with time cards);
· Refer all concerns to the Head Door Seller;
· Performs other related duties as may be required;
· On the job training provided.

Skills and Abilities:

· Excellent customer service skills, strong work ethic with a focus on accuracy and attention to details; reliable, punctual and trustworthy;
· Knowledge of computers and programming (Microsoft Word and Excel);
· Ability to handle the public with tact, discretion with a pleasing personality;
· Understand and follow the Health and Safety Policies of the Bingo Hall;

Requirements:

· Excellent customer service, communication and sales skills;
· Have knowledge of bingo machine, bingo operating sessions and programs or a willingness to learn;
· Able to deal with prolonged standing, walking and/or running;
· Must have a pleasant attitude and disposition for working with public;
· Willing to work flexible hour, evenings and weekends and holidays;

Must provide a criminal record check, and willingness to take a drug test.
