RE: Coronavirus – COVID 19

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared, the Coronavirus – COVID19, a Global Pandemic.   Peguis First Nation along with the Peguis Health Center is taking precautionary measures to ensure that the community and staff are aware of proper Hand Washing, Coughing Etiquette  and Sanitizing.

With this, we want to contain any potential spread of the COVID19 within our community and encourage staff to come forth if they feel symptoms of the COVID19 such as fever, cough, shortness of breath and generally feeling unwell.

Any band employee who has recently travelled out of province should self-monitor themselves and have minimal public contact, checking your temperature twice a day, observe for signs or symptoms of fever, shortness of breath, cough and generally feeling unwell, for 2 weeks along with any family members. Please notify the Health Center and we can set up a plan for self-monitoring. The Finance Department may provide you with an ROE if needed and you can apply for Unemployment Insurance immediately.

It you have any questions, please phone Denise Bear at the Health Center 204-645-2169 or cell 204-771-6896.

Also refer to Peguis First Nation website for any further information.
