Peguis Public Health wants members to be aware of an increase in pertussis cases within Manitoba, particularly in Southern Manitoba. It is related to Infant, school age and adult pertussis vaccine doses missed during 2020-2021 during COVID Pandemic.
This serves as an important reminder about staying up to date with vaccines.
– Please ensure all children are up-to-date on their childhood vaccinations
– If you are pregnant Peguis Public Health is offering Tdap vaccine for those between 27 – 32 weeks gestation, irrespective of their immunization history.

Nurses are working hard to ensure that children are updated with their vaccines-clinics at health centre, home visits to those that have challenge with transportation and those that are home schooled.
