BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Peguis Child & Family Services is mandated to provide programs and services to our people that protect our children, promote family wellness, and strengthen our community.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide child protection and family services to Peguis First Nation membership and to all other nations that may request our services.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Exceptional crisis intervention and risk assessment skills
Demonstrate organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of collateral services / community resources and how to access are required
Seek out resources that are available: in community and rural areas
Submit monthly reports to assigned supervisor
Collect data and able to present annual report when requested
Other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Exceptional organizing and time-management skills Demonstrate organizational and interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in iMac – specifically Microsoft Office
Maintain a high degree of professionalism, courteousness, and friendliness Self-motivated and dedicated team player

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Administrative/clerical studies an asset
Minimum of one year experience Grade 12 High School Diploma and/or
Post Secondary Degree and/or Bachelor of Social Worker Degree
Valid class 5 Driver’s license and Reliable means of transportation
Able to submit a valid Adult/Child Abuse, a Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sectors Check
Proficient with Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher)
Submit to Mandatory Drug Testing
Knowledge of the MB CFS Act; Honoring our Children, Families and Nations Act, knowledge of Peguis First Nation Child Welfare Legislation Processes
Introduce programs and services to create health and Awareness for youth
