RE: KAMLOOPS RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL MASS GRAVE FINDINGS
Peguis First Nation Chief and Council and members of our First Nation are showing support and solidarity for the 215 missing children found in the mass grave at Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation or former Kamloops residential school site.
Peguis First Nation flags will fly at half-mast for 215 days starting May 29, 2021. This in honour of the 215 missing children that passed and never returned home from attending the Kamloops residential school. This is our show of support of their families, relatives, communities and all First Nations children that attended these schools. Some of our children died in residential schools and never returned home. This would not be acceptable or tolerated in any school system anywhere in the Canada or other counties.
Our deepest sincerity and condolences to families and all impacted by this solemn finding.
Chief Glenn Hudson, Council and all members of Peguis First Nation.
