Peguis youth attended the Osoyoos Youth Conference in BC September 13-16. Chief Clarence Louie extended an invitation when he was the keynote speaker at the Peguis grad in June 2011.
The youth who attended were Jessica McCorrister, Brandon Sutherland, Kiinan Stevenson-French, Harley Murdock, Ethan Bird, Chelsey Meade, Tyler woodhouse & Aaron Stevenson. Each of the students were sponsored by Peguis organizations; C&C, PSB, Justice, Hunters & Gatherers, & Ventures programs.
The students attended various camps while at the conference: presenters from the local, municipal & federal agencies, youth leadership mentors, and also enjoyed other presentations: the great GPS Race, rattlesnakes, lifeskills, and horseback riding. Overall, the youth had a really great and memorable trip! They met 20+ youth from across Canada, exchanged gifts, contact info (Facebook, lol) and lifelong friends.
