Peguis Public Health was notified by Manitoba’s Vaccine Task Force that Peguis First Nation will receive 228 doses of the Moderna vaccine this week. Today, 250 doses of the Moderna Vaccine were delivered to the community.
Vaccine Task Force is choosing communities dealing with COVID-19 with strong health teams capable of delivering the vaccine. These first communities will pave the way for other communities to deliver the vaccine. This is the first shipment of Moderna Vaccine Peguis First Nation is receiving, with more to come.
The Vaccine Task Force has decided priority will be given to Personal Care Home residents and staff, and those aged 70+.
Vaccine appointments will begin starting Monday, January 11, 2020. Peguis First Nation will be utilizing our Multiplex site for vaccine administration.
Members that are 70 years old or older can call the Peguis Public Health Centre at (204) 645-2169 and speak with Chantel Settee to schedule an appointment.
