Beginning 6:00 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2021 Peguis First Nation will remain in Code Red and will remain in effect until March 12, 2021 6:00 a.m.
Peguis First Nation remains under a State of Emergency and Code Red restrictions are in effect. Code Red restrictions are:
- Provincial restrictions are in effect, please be aware of Manitoba’s State of Emergency and Public Health Orders.
- Remember our fundamentals: Wear a face mask and practice social distancing when in public settings; Frequently wash hands for 20 seconds; and Self-Isolate and notify Peguis Public Health when symptomatic.
- Check Points located at community entrances in effect. Community Curfew is from 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Check Points closed during Curfew hours.
- Restricted access at Check Points.
- Avoid Restricted Hot Spots identified by the Province of Manitoba. Restricted Hot Spots are updated daily, please visit https://www.gov.mb.ca/covid19/restartmb/prs/index.html.
- Stay at home order. No Visiting within community.
- Stick to your household “bubble”.
- Gatherings no more than 5 immediate and extended families.
- Reduced customer capacity in businesses.
- Religious and cultural gatherings can hold regular religious if service does not exceed 10% capacity or 50 people, whichever is lower.
- Local Businesses have returned to regular hours (Midway closes at 10:00 pm daily).
- Please, if anyone is having any COVID symptoms they are to self-isolate and do not have contact with anyone until your swab results are back. Put a mask on and wear that until your results are back, health will have further direction for you.
TRAVEL
- • Restricted Travel Out of Province. As per the public health order, 14 days of self-isolation is required for people returning or coming to Manitoba.
- Travel for essential services and shopping only.
- Any type of medical, dental, chiropractor, massage, specialist or eye doctor appointments requires a mandatory 4-day isolation if the appointment is located in an identified Red Zone Area. This is in effect regardless of the means of travel. Due to the COVID-19 variant in Manitoba, these restrictions are more cautious to keep our community members safe. Members must pre-register at (204) 645-2869 or (204) 645-4738 when travelling for these appointments.
- Travel to Winnipeg is allowed, for day trips only at this time. Members must pre-register at (204) 645-2869 or (204) 645-4738.
- Designate one (1) household shopper for essential shopping.
VISITING/ACCESS REQUESTS
- Off-Reserve members & visitors not permitted at this time.
- No visiting with anyone self-isolating.
- Requests can be submitted to attend funerals in community by calling at (204) 645-2869 or (204) 645-4738.
- Elders that live alone or require support are allowed to have 2 regular visitors for support and to help around the house.
- Palliative Care visits are allowed but each visitor must pre-register at (204) 645-2869 or (204) 645-4738.
FINES FOR BREAKING PUBLIC HEALTH ORDERS
Fines for Breaking Public Health Orders: R.C.M.P. is issuing fines to anyone who is not following public health orders put in place by the Public Health Act. These fines include:
- $1,296 fines issued to anyone who is not following emergency orders in place by the Public Health Act. This includes anyone that does not self-isolate when directed by public health or to a homeowner that is caught hosting a house party.
- $5,000 fines for corporations disobeying the Public Health Act.
- $298 fines issued for not wearing a mask in a public place.
