Fisher Ambulance Service is currently seeking motivated, hardworking, and skilled Primary Care Paramedics to work in Peguis First Nation and the surrounding area. Fisher Ambulance is a private EMS service owned and operated by Peguis First Nation. It is a small, close-knit team of paramedics providing high quality, pre-hospital patient care. The service is bolstered by basic and advanced life support paramedics with years of education and experience. The service utilizes state of the art equipment to enhance our service capacity for both our members and the community. 

Position Overview 

The Primary Care Paramedic is a member of Fisher Ambulance Service emergency medical services team and is responsible for responding to medical emergencies and the overall care of patients within the Peguis First Nation service area. Paramedics are expected to operate with a high degree of skill, compassion, empathy, and professionalism at all times. 

EFT: Casual (with the potential to work up to full time hours) 

Main Duties 

Paramedics perform some or all of the following duties: 

  • • Treatment of the ill and injured 
  • • Ground transport of patients across the province of Manitoba 
  • • Maintenance of equipment and vehicles 
  • • Maintenance of licensure 
  • • Uphold the standards of patient care as set forth by Peguis First Nation 
  • • Work well within a team environment 
  • • Demonstrate a high degree of written and oral communication skills 
  • • Respect and promote a culturally diverse population 
  • • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and further your education 

Employment Requirements 

  • • Current certificate of practice as a Primary Care Paramedic with the College of Paramedics of Manitoba (consideration will be given to applicants waiting to write the COPR) 
  • • Current certification in Heart and Stroke BLS Provider 
  • • Province of Manitoba Class 4 driver’s license
