RE: School Opening September 7, 2021
Peguis Central School will begin on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 for full-time in-class learning for all grades N-12 to near normal conditions under the direction of the Peguis Pandemic Planning Team, Peguis Health, Chief and Council and Peguis School Board. Remote Learning is also an option if parents decide to keep their child at home. There will be two nursery classrooms with half day classes (AM & PM) at Library building. We also have three full day Kindergarten classrooms at the school.
After many months of silent halls and empty classrooms we are happy our students are returning. All Health Protocols and Safety Practices will be in place as we have been busy planning and preparing for our school opening with a high priority on student and staff safety.
Our staff are fully vaccinated and prepared to work with all the children. At this time students do not need to be vaccinated to attend in-class instruction. Parents are encouraged to vaccinate all children over the age of 12 to minimize the impacts of Covid-19 upon our children.
Masks are mandatory for all our staff and students.
Parents are responsible to screen their children for symptoms of Covid-19 prior to sending to school. A screening checklist will be provided to assist the parents.
Temperature and screening checks will be taken prior to boarding buses and before entering school on a daily basis.
If your child is sick or has any Covid-19 symptoms they are to remain at home and contact Peguis Health Center for assessment.
All students will be kept in their designated areas and physical distancing will be in place. Cleaning and sanitizing will be done throughout the day and again after staff and students leave the school.
The Food Services Program will be providing a lunch services. Students can bring a bag lunch or purchase from the cafeteria. Students and staff will be required to eat in their designated classrooms. A weekly menu of the lunch program will be put on the school website and on the weekender.
