Peguis Child & Family Services is one of ten agencies within the Southern First Nations Network of Care mandated to provide programs and services to our people that protect our children, promote family wellness, and strengthen our community.
Our mission is to provide child protection and family services to Peguis First Nation membership and to all other nations that may request our services.
Be a positive role model;
Work closely with the Foster Parent and/or Agency staff to provide the designated services;
Provide guidance to youth (life skills, self-care techniques, communication skills, budgeting, nutrition, etc.);
Escort clients to appointments;
Document and report all contact with clients in a timely matter;
Ensure culturally appropriate services; Ability to handle crisis situations in an appropriate manner; Positive relationship building with clients and collaterals.
Foster Parent Orientation and Little Warriors ‘Prevent It’ Training is an asset;
Flexibility to work on short notice and in the evenings and/or on weekends;
Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication skills;
Exceptional crisis intervention and risk assessment skills;
Maintain a high degree of professionalism, courteousness, and friendliness;
Proficiency in computers – Microsoft Office is required; knowledge of CFSIS is an asset;
Exceptional organizing and time-management skills;
Knowledge of the Manitoba Child and Family Services Act;
Self-motivated and dedicated team player.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of one year experience in the field of Child and Family Services;
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and an insured vehicle (with $2,000,000 liability) are required;
