For the first time in its 144-year history, the Supreme Court of Canada announced it will meet with First Nations leadership. The announcement today is results from July 2018 invitation to the Supreme Court of Canada Chief Justice to meet leadership of First Nations in Manitoba.
Topics will include how the legal system regards First Nations people to introducing culturally appropriate rituals to the court system and introducing 40 sacred eagle feathers for use in Manitoba courtrooms.
