JOB TITLE: Tribal NNADAP Coordinator (term)
LOCATION: IRTC Sub-Office Headingley
SALARY: Based on experience
TERM: ASAP – December 31, 2021


Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Health, the Tribal NNADAP Coordinator will assist in the implementation of a range of activities aimed at preventing and/or reducing the incidence of alcohol and drug abuse in IRTC member communities, assist in the provision of early identification and intervention services for individuals abusing alcohol and drugs, and advocating on behalf of each community NNADAP Workers to facilitate referrals, aftercare services and treatment services.


• Build capacity within IRTC member communities to develop and deliver culturally appropriate community based- addictions services by supporting community NNADAP workers to reduce the high levels of alcohol and other substances abuse within their populations
• Assist community NNADAP workers to identify the resources to meet community information needs that will increase awareness and understanding among the residents about alcohol and substance abuse issues as well as awareness and promotion of culturally appropriate programs to educate and promote addictions awareness and addiction free lifestyle Promote sobriety in the Tribal Council in support of community NNADAP workers
• Strengthen links between community-based programs and residential treatment
• Assisting in developing community drug strategy plans
• Assist in establishing Tribal Council NNADAP goals yearly
• Attend regular event meetings, public speaking, and trainings as directed
• Evaluate program
• Perform other duties as required


• At least 2 years of experience in the field or in related areas of addiction
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Proficient in MS Office software programs, specifically Work and Excel
• Must be available to work at the main and sub-office of IRTC
• Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license
• Must be able to travel on a regular basis and as needed, especially is emergency circumstances
• Criminal Record check and Child Abuse Registry Check
• Preference will be given to qualified Manitoba Interlake Reserves Member First Nations
